Why You Will Benefit from Attending
This year’s conference will bring together water law and resource management
professionals to discuss some of the most timely issues affecting water resources
across Washington.
Sessions will explore the impacts of the state’s ongoing drought conditions, including
implications for groundwater availability and water management. Attendees will also
hear from Ecology staff about water code enforcement, response strategies, and
approaches to resolving water-related disputes.
The program will cover current issues surrounding water right changes and transfers,
including a case study examining Thurston County’s Ecology-funded purchase of water
rights from the TransAlta Water Bank. Additional sessions will provide updates on the
WRIA 1 (“Nooksack”) General Water Adjudication and discuss how state budget
constraints may affect water resource management.
The conference will also look at emerging water demands associated with data center
development and practical strategies local governments can use to address and
minimize impacts.
With a full agenda covering drought, adjudication, water rights, enforcement, and
emerging water demands, this year’s seminar offers a valuable opportunity to stay
informed and connect with professionals working across Washington’s water
community.
