We are pleased to welcome Lauren Block as our 2025 Student Law Clerk. Lauren is a second-year law student at the University of Washington School of Law, where she serves as Co-President of the Environmental Law Society and is the incoming Executive Managing Editor of the Washington Law Review. This spring, she joins Confluence Law with a strong foundation in environmental policy, legislative analysis, and legal research.

Last summer, Lauren clerked for the Washington Attorney General’s Office in the Environmental Protection Division, supporting Assistant Attorneys General with legal research, drafting memoranda, and preparing motions in ongoing litigation. Lauren was actively involved in the Washington State Bar Association’s Environment and Land Use Law Section (ELUL), where she provided weekly legislative updates to ELUL members on key environmental bills during the 2024 legislative session.

Lauren holds a dual degree in Environmental Ethics & Policy and Political Science from the University of Portland. Her prior internships with the U.S. Department of the Interior and a regional seafood company’s government affairs team provided hands-on experience at the intersection of public policy and natural resource management.

Passionate about climate science, environmental justice, and natural resources law, Lauren is excited to deepen her expertise in water law during her time at Confluence Law.

We’re thrilled to have Lauren on board as our student law clerk and look forward to this spring as she assists both our clients and our team.
